For Investors (why I don't answer)

Let me start with an apology. I cannot keep in touch with each of you individually, and I am sorry for that. It is not for lack of respect. Most of you are far smarter and better educated than I am, and I have no doubt I could learn a great deal from you. That makes the silence worse, not easier.

The plain problem is volume. The number of investors, funds, advisors, and intermediaries who reach out has grown past anything I can answer by hand. So I did what an engineer does and automated it. For a long time most of you received some version of this reply:

Hi [name],

Thank you for reaching out and for your continued interest in AirportLabs. We are truly humbled by the attention and support we’ve received from the investment community, and we certainly recognize the impressive track record and market expertise your company brings to the table. I sincerely apologize and deeply regret that I simply do not have the capacity to connect more meaningfully at this stage.

At this time, however, we are not actively seeking investors, liquidity deals, advisors or similar arrangements. As we navigate a period of high demand for our products and services, our primary focus remains on delivering value to our customers and strengthening our core business. Given the volume of inquiries we receive daily, I regret that I’m unable to accommodate individual calls or meetings.

I’d like to extend an invitation to connect at the upcoming PTE Expo in London (17th to 19th of March 2026), where I and the senior management team will be available at our stand. While we won’t be scheduling formal appointments, as customer interactions will take priority, we’d be happy to speak with you if you stop by.

In the meantime, if there are any specific questions or points of interest you have, please let me know; I may try to compile such inquiries and potentially provide an answer over email. I also encourage you to send over any relevant materials at any time. While I may not be able to provide a direct reply to such materials, I always read them and share them with the team.

I’d be glad to stay in touch should our circumstances change in the future. Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn ( https://www.linkedin.com/in/uiorean/ ), and I appreciate your understanding if I’m unable to respond to every email individually.

Thank you again for your interest and support.

That message did not have the effect I hoped for. Most of you read it as an invitation to write even more. I particularly disliked that some took it as an opening to call, with total disregard for time zones, or to reach me on WhatsApp. I live in a part of the universe where WhatsApp is for family and close friends, not for cold outreach. That is what finally forced me to stop answering these emails altogether.

I would genuinely love to get to know each one of you. Doing it properly would be a full time job, and I already have one of those.

A few things I want to be clear about:

  • I truly am not looking for investors. Why is a separate matter, and one for another day.
  • I am very, very aware that relationships are built over time, and that many of you would rather start today than wait. I understand the logic. It does not change my answer right now.
  • I am considering reserving a weekly slot to talk to this segment of the market. I simply have not gotten around to setting it up.
  • I am reading every message, and I genuinely enjoy your materials. Please keep sending them. They are always shared with the entire company; we have a dedicated Slack channel for them.
  • I am interested in your questions, with the exception of “let’s connect” and “do you have twenty minutes”. Those are not questions.
  • I am very grateful for your attention.
  • I am hugely embarrassed that your companies decided, against my best advice, to send you halfway around the world to meet me at an expo or at our offices.
  • I hope this is not upsetting you or hurting your KPIs.

So if you wrote and heard nothing back, this page is my reply. Thank you for your interest, and for your understanding.
