Our BA interns did not spend their first weeks in a training room. They spent them at Cluj International Airport.

The AirportLabs team shared the full story on the company page - I wanted to add the founder’s view.

You do not learn to build aviation software from a slide deck. You learn it by standing on the apron. By watching a gate conflict resolve. By asking the operations team why a specific workflow breaks every time there is a delay cascade. The operation teaches you things the specification never will. That is why we bring interns to the airport first.

În 2025 AirportLabs a adăugat peste 45 de clienți noi, trecând de 100 de aeroporturi. Echipa noastră a lansat în Republica Dominicană (toate aeroporturile). În Mexic (13 aeroporturi), iar Dubai și O’Hare rulează suita noastră completă de produse.

Toate astea se proiectează, se construiesc, se operează, se promovează și se vând de la Cluj.

Dacă vrei ca munca ta să aibă impact direct - nu la nivel de concept, ci la nivel de operațiuni reale în aeroporturi care procesează milioane de pasageri - s-ar putea să te intereseze ce avem noi de oferit.

E să simți că munca ta contează (27,5% vs 19,3% salariul). Alt studiu spune că securitatea jobului a depășit și ea salariul (88% vs 84%). Work-life balance - la fel (86%).

Oamenii nu mai pleacă doar pentru bani. Pleacă când simt că ce fac nu are rost.

În AirportLabs, munca are impact concret: sistemele noastre rulează în peste 100 de aeroporturi. Produsele dezvoltate azi ajung în operațiuni mâine.

De aceea lansăm din nou un program plătit de 8 săptămâni pentru Business Analyst în tech-ul aeroporturar: înveți în proiecte reale, alături de BA și Product Manageri seniori. Apoi vei putea schimba cum funcționează aviația la nivel global.

Dacă ești în ultimul an sau absolvent recent (Business, IT, Inginerie) sau vrei să treci în rol de BA—detaliile și formularul sunt mai jos.

Nu am mai deschis o poziție de acest fel de 4 ani.

În AirportLabs punem preț pe stabilitate, însă creșterea constantă ne-a arătat că cerem unui singur rol să acopere o arie prea largă. Așa că am luat decizia strategică de a împărți responsabilitățile.

Căutăm un Project Portfolio Manager.

Este un rol cu raportare directă la mine. Nu căutăm “middle management”, ci ownership total pe zona de Delivery.

Diviziunea muncii e clară: Noi definim Destinația: Strategie, viziune produs, creștere comercială. Tu construiești Vehiculul: Procese eficiente, starea portofoliului de proiecte și mentorat pentru echipa de Project Management.

Modelul economic lăudat este, în esență, o versiune locală a teoriei “trickle-down economics” (https://lnkd.in/dHeYVAVy) - o teorie care a eșuat în mod repetat. Se presupune că banii pompați în vârful piramidei se vor scurge în jos, către întreaga comunitate.

Despite the difficult year, AirportLabs continued to grow in customer base, team size and released products.

Am incercat in repetate randuri sa angajez romani pe proiectele pe care am lucrat. Fie in UK, US sau acum in UAE, mereu au fost oportunitati mai mult sau mai putin avantajoase in domeniul IT.

Pana acum n-am avut prea mult succes. Nu vorbesc de gasirea unor persoane calificate, de cele mai multe ori nici macar nu am ajuns in acea faza. Vorbesc de interesul exprimat de comunitate. Am dat anunturi pe linkedin, pe grupurile alumni de pe la politehnici si pe la cunostinte. De fiecare data raspunsul a fost foarte slab si rar am primit un CV.
